Letter From Our Head Of School

Get Started
We love nothing more than getting to know prospective families. Our admission team is ready to connect in person or by phone or video conference to answer your questions about admission; tell you all about our students, guides, and programs; and help you think through how to explore a new school for your child.
Steps to Admission
During the virtual admission interview, we strive to ensure that the family’s and school’s core values, goals and expectations of the child are the same.
For students applying for Toddler through Primary, the admission interview will consist of the Assistant Head of School and the parents/guardians. For students applying for Elementary through Middle School, the interview process will also include the student.
Applicants for Elementary through Middle School should submit previous school records and a teacher recommendation form for admission consideration. Click here for the School Recommendation and Records Release Form. Once the academic review is complete, families will be advanced to the virtual admission interview.
Families will have 48 hours to accept the enrollment offer and submit a completed Enrollment Contract. A non-refundable, non-transferable enrollment fee must be paid and a tuition payment plan created through FACTS Tuition Management.
Starwood Schools will continue to accept enrollments throughout the year if spaces are available. If spaces are unavailable, the school will work with the family through the wait pool process.
Students who have completed the admission process and have been accepted when our programs are full will be placed in a wait pool. We must have a signed Enrollment Contract and a non-refundable enrollment fee paid through FACTS Tuition Management for a child to be secured in the wait pool.
If spaces do become available, the admission team will review prospective families who show a continued interest in Starwood Schools and consider students based on classroom composition and other factors. Families will be notified when a space becomes available for their child and will have 48 hours to accept by making the first tuition payment and completing the required student paperwork.
If a family does not accept and/or does not complete the necessary steps within 48 hours, the student will return to the wait pool, if desired, and another student will be offered the space. All tuition and fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Starwood Academy of Frisco is one of Frisco's only high-fidelity Montessori schools to offer families the opportunity to experience a complete Montessori journey from 18 months through the age of 15. Our programs include:
Toddler: 18 months-3 years old
Primary: 3-6 years old (Preschool, Kindergarten)
Lower Elementary: 6-9 years old (1st, 2nd, 3rd grade)
Upper Elementary: 9-12 years old (4th, 5th, 6th grade)
Middle School: 12-15 years old (7th, 8th grade)
In contrast to traditional education, which emphasizes small classes, Montessori schools value the lessons of community in larger, multi-age classrooms. The role of the teacher in a Montessori classroom is a guide and a mentor rather than an instructor. Larger environments encourage students to rely on themselves and their peers as resources.
Starting in our primary program (ages 3-6) and through elementary/middle school (ages 6-15), classrooms average 20 to 24 students with a 12:1 student-teacher ratio. Note that the same does not apply for toddler classrooms, where we keep the student-teacher ratio at 7:1.
Our social media channels are a great way to discover more about life at Starwood. Click through the Day In the Life photo albums on our Facebook page below to see students pursue their interests and demonstrate independence during their school day:

While independent and personally empowered, Starwood students share a strong work ethic, a love of learning, and sincere respect for humanity and the world in which we live. The Starwood Academy of Frisco graduate embraces diversity as a global citizen; thinks critically as a creative, collaborative leader; and lives with integrity as a self-aware, independent human being.

The core character qualities that Montessori helps to develop are also the same ones that have made the transition smooth for our students to attend either public or private school for high school education. Many students continue on to attend Frisco ISD, Legacy Christian Academy, the Alcuin School, or Greenhill.
