Applying for Admission

Starwood Academy of Frisco welcomes applications at all grade levels — from toddler through middle school — for the 2023-24 school year.

The school's largest entry points are the toddler and primary programs for our toddler and pre-kindergarten grades. While space is limited, we are committed to enrolling mission-appropriate families who are looking for a long-term educational partner.

To be considered for admission, each applicant must complete the steps described below. Please call (972) 885-8585 or email admissions@starwoodacademy.com if you have questions about your admissions status.

Application Checklists

Are you ready to move forward or have you already told us you're interested in applying? Great! Review the checklists below to ensure that you have all of the necessary materials ready.

Application Process

Step 1 - Submit Inquiry
Have we met yet? You're excited to begin your child's application process—and we're excited to get to know them! Before you register for an event or submit supporting materials, be sure to fill out the inquiry form so that we have some basic information from you. Once you've completed this form, you'll receive an email outlining your next steps.
Step 2 - Connect With Us
Register for an admission event.
Step 3 - Submit Supporting Materials

• A recent photo of your family

• Teacher recommendation form - Applicable if the applicant is currently enrolled in a kindergarten program.

Step 4 - Parent/Guardian Interview
For toddler and primary applicants, the interview will consist of the Assistant Head of School and the parents/guardians. This serves as an opportunity to get to know you better and to ensure that the family’s and school’s core values, goals, and expectations of the child are the same. The interview is meant to be fairly informal, and takes place on the phone.

Step 4 - Reading and math assessment
At Starwood Academy of Frisco, we use Measuring Academic Progress (MAP) testing to assess students' academic abilities. Rather than testing to specific benchmarks, this assessment allows us to ‘map’ each student’s proficiency in reading and math.

Step 5 - Class Visit
The class visit, which takes place during morning work time, is an opportunity for our guides to observe your student in the classroom environment. Through observation, guides assess the student's preferences, strengths, and ability to work within a community.

Step 6 - Parent/Guardian Interview
For elementary and middle school applicants, the interview will consist of the Assistant Head of School and the parents/guardians. After the supporting materials have been reviewed, this serves as an opportunity to get to know you better and to ensure that the family’s and school’s core values, goals, and expectations of the child are the same. The interview is meant to be fairly informal, and takes place on the phone.
