As part of our 20-year celebration for the 2020- 2021 school year, students, families, guides and alumni are sharing their Montessori story to highlight the impact of Starwood Schools education. The Aslan family (Sina and Nyaz with Arman and Alya, Upper Elementary and Lower Elementary) have been committed supporters of our school for two years. This is their story:
How did you find Starwood Schools?
We found out about Starwood initially online prior to the new Academy being built. A few of our kid's daycare friends had also moved over to Starwood and were impressed. We reviewed the school a few times, before making the switch.
Why did you choose Montessori for your family?
It takes a lot for me to move my kids and I am extra careful with my research. After a few years of reviewing schools and checking out Starwood Montessori and Academy, I was impressed by the consistency in maintaining high standards and providing an enriching environment for the kids to thrive.
What makes Starwood Schools special to you?
Starwood is truly special in the family-friendly environment it creates. From the owner, director, front office staff and guides, the school is very inviting and they each make each child feel unique and special which naturally fosters a self-motivating learning experience. I have been most impressed by the enthusiastic guides/teachers who have brought out the best in my children academically and socially.
What does your family like best about Starwood Schools?
Our family loves the individual care and guidance from the guides. I also like the Montessori concepts with a little bit of traditional school feeling.
Any favorite “Montessori Moment” thus far?
My favorite Montessori moment was watching and videoing my daughter present her book report. She was extremely nervous but was able to build her confidence and proudly present her diorama. My favorite school moment was picking up my son on his birthday and one of the guides, Ms. Hoffner, was singing happy birthday to him on the megaphone in such a charismatic style that lit up his smile!
Thank you to the Alsan family and our entire school community for your long-lasting support for our schools!
